Self-hosting
Do not want a third party holding your game's data, even one that holds almost nothing? Run the whole stack yourself.
The Heartbeat engine, the same ingest, dedupe, metrics and accuracy tests behind the hosted service, is open source. Self-hosting gives you the full pipeline on your own machine: your ingest endpoint, your database, your dashboard.
What you need
- A server that stays on. A $5 VPS is plenty for most games.
- Docker, or the .NET 8 runtime if you prefer bare metal.
- Ten minutes with the guide in the repository.
Where the code is
The repository goes public with the open beta. It ships with the Docker image, the self-host guide, and the test suite. Beta testers get access now: ask for a key and mention you want to self-host.
Hosted vs self-hosted
| Hosted | Self-hosted |
|---|---|
| We run the servers, you paste two keys | You run everything, you own everything |
| Free plan, Pro for depth | Free forever, your infrastructure bill |
| Alerts, exports, team logins on paid plans | Full feature set, assembly required |
